Staff Cloud Engineer, Cloud Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

• Address intricate challenges as a dependable technical leader

• Foster a DevOps culture and collaboration within the Cloud Platform Engineering Team

• Create and refine cloud reference architectures while guiding teams in their implementation

• Shape architectural decisions

• Enhance CI/CD pipelines

• Construct secure, high-performing, resilient, and efficient cloud infrastructure

• Work alongside cross-functional teams to optimize delivery processes and improve services

• Deliver a seamless experience through self-service and contemporary methodologies

• Guide and mentor junior team members in industry best practices

• Conduct code and design reviews to ensure high-quality outcomes

• Keep abreast of the latest cloud technologies and trends

• Develop and manage a cloud platform that supports self-service deployments, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, and Kubernetes delivery via ArgoCD

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

• Proficiency in one major cloud service provider

• 5-7 years of progressively complex experience in cloud engineering roles

• Experience in a high-tech, global environment is preferred, particularly with one or more enterprise-level software applications

• Familiarity with public cloud platforms, both via console and API (GCP preferred)

• Experience in automating cloud solutions across applications, infrastructure, storage, platforms, and data

• Proficient in programming languages such as Go, Python, and/or Shell/Bash

• Strong understanding of system design to balance operational and reliability trade-offs

• Practical knowledge of agile methodologies and Scrum practices

• Familiarity with GCP, Azure, or AWS

• Experience with tools like Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, GitHub Actions, Argo CD, HCP Vault, JFrog Artifactory, Datadog, Prometheus, or ELK
