Staff Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and develop high-performance, scalable Python microservices and APIs that facilitate our real-time AI agent framework.

• Construct resilient distributed systems that ensure high availability and low latency at scale, accommodating tens of thousands of concurrent connections.

• Architect robust data storage solutions utilizing SQL, NoSQL, in-memory stores (such as Redis), and blob storage, demonstrating an understanding of when to apply each and how to manage them effectively.

• Implement message queuing systems and event-driven architectures to enable reliable inter-service communication.

• Establish and maintain integrations with Epic EHR and other healthcare systems.

• Guarantee HIPAA compliance and security in all system architectures.

• Develop monitoring and observability systems to ensure platform reliability.

• Assume end-to-end ownership of backend features from the design phase through to deployment.

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams through technical discussions and code reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of backend engineering experience in building scalable, distributed systems.

• Strong system design capabilities with a proven ability to architect solutions from the ground up.

• Experience in integrating with external systems and third-party APIs.

• A proven track record of independently managing and delivering complex technical projects.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor) for improved productivity.
