Staff Applied Scientist

📋 Description

• Conduct research on machine learning and statistical techniques to enhance the predictive accuracy of unsecured underwriting models.

• Develop, implement, and assess improvements to models using thorough experimentation and validation processes.

• Evaluate model performance and its subsequent impacts.

• Collaborate with Engineering teams for technical assessments, implementation, and deployment.

• Convert research insights into actionable recommendations, well-documented methodologies, and solutions ready for production.

⛳️ Requirements

• A graduate degree in mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, physics, econometrics, operations research, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in machine learning, statistical modeling, or applied quantitative research within academic or industry environments.

• Proficiency in developing and assessing machine learning or statistical models utilizing Python.

• Established knowledge of probability, statistics, and machine learning techniques.

• Experience in designing experiments or validation analyses to evaluate model accuracy, reliability, or predictive effectiveness.

• This role will operate within East/West coast time zones.

• Must have the ability to live and work in the U.S. or Canada, excluding Quebec.
