Staff Application Engineer, Salesforce

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage Mozilla's Salesforce platform for sales and revenue operations across various enterprise product lines.

• Create a scalable architecture that encompasses data models, business-unit structures, security protocols, integrations, and release management.

• Collaborate with the implementation team to build internal operational expertise during the go-live phase.

• Provide a production-ready Sales Cloud foundation for the launch of Firefox Enterprise.

• Take responsibility for the platform's technical health and ongoing development post-launch.

• Formulate a lead-to-cash roadmap that includes contracting, entitlements, delivery tracking, renewals, and finance integrations.

• Design and assess secure AI-assisted workflows and MCP integrations.

• Enhance platform reliability, data quality, release confidence, and overall user experience.

• Define sales processes, role hierarchies, record types, sharing rules, reports, dashboards, and custom Salesforce functionalities.

• Develop and maintain integrations with NetSuite, BigQuery, contract management systems, and other operational applications.

• Implement sandbox governance, source control, automated testing, deployment pipelines, release controls, rollback protocols, documentation, and runbooks.

• Collaborate with Sales, Revenue Operations, Finance, Legal, Security, and IT departments.

• Create a support model and address complex production challenges, vendor escalations, and platform risks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of eight years in Salesforce engineering, administration, or architecture.

• Proven experience in a leadership or significant technical role in the implementation and management of a complex Salesforce environment.

• Advanced expertise in Salesforce declarative capabilities, including Flow, validation rules, approval processes, record types, permission models, and sharing rules.

• Proficient in reading, writing, testing, and reviewing Apex, SOQL, and Lightning Web Components.

• Experience in designing Salesforce data and security models for multiple business units, product lines, or sales processes.

• Strong knowledge of lead-to-cash processes, including opportunities, quoting, contracting, orders, fulfillment or service delivery, renewals, and finance system integrations.

• Experience integrating Salesforce with enterprise platforms via REST or SOAP APIs, event-driven patterns, middleware, or integration tools.

• Background in developing AI assistants, agents, or MCP integrations using enterprise data and actions securely.

• Ability to effectively communicate architectural decisions and technical trade-offs.

• Capability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and lead complex projects across multiple teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• Preferred: Salesforce Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder, Platform Developer, Application Architect, or System Architect certifications.

• Preferred: Experience with environment management, automated testing, source control, CI/CD, and release management processes.

• Preferred: Familiarity with integrating Salesforce with NetSuite, BigQuery, Workato, Celigo, MuleSoft, or similar platforms.

• Preferred: Experience with service contracts, entitlements, delivery operations, subscription renewals, CPQ, or contract lifecycle workflows.

• Preferred: Experience managing Salesforce in ISO 27001, SOC 2, or similarly regulated environments.
