This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
β’ Spearhead the technical vision and implementation of Android solutions that assist retailers and shoppers throughout the entire order picking process.
β’ Create, develop, test, and sustain Android applications utilizing Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and RxJava.
β’ Collaborate with Product, Design, Backend Engineering, iOS Engineering, retailers, and external vendors to establish effective solutions.
β’ Take ownership of projects from initial technical exploration to final delivery, ensuring a balance between retailer needs and platform health, scalability, and maintainability.
β’ Enhance application performance, reliability, observability, and developer experience through profiling, instrumentation, architectural improvements, and reduction of technical debt.
β’ Lead design discussions, mentor engineers, set engineering best practices, and support sustainable technical decisions.
β’ Contribute to roadmaps that encompass new picking models, retailer and market expansion, Android platform investments, and operational scalability.
β’ A minimum of 7 years of professional software engineering experience, with significant expertise in developing and delivering Android applications.
β’ Strong command of Kotlin programming language.
β’ Familiarity with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and reactive programming using RxJava or a similar framework.
β’ Proven experience in leading intricate, cross-functional software projects from design to production launch.
β’ Experience in designing maintainable Android architectures.
β’ Background in enhancing application performance, reliability, testing, monitoring, or observability.
β’ Ability to collaborate effectively with Product, Design, Backend Engineering, iOS Engineering, and external stakeholders.
β’ Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
β’ Preferred: experience in retail, logistics, fulfillment, delivery, workforce, or other operational settings.
β’ Preferred: experience in supporting multiple product teams, retailers, markets, or high-priority initiatives at once.
β’ Preferred: expertise in Android performance profiling, startup optimization, crash reduction, instrumentation, or large-scale observability.
β’ Preferred: knowledge in mobile platform strategy, shared components, developer tooling, or transitioning to modern Android technologies.
β’ Preferred: mentoring engineers and shaping technical direction across teams.
β’ Preferred: experience collaborating with external partners, vendors, or enterprise clients.
