This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Develop, construct, and sustain Android applications focused on swarm planning, monitoring, and tactical control.
β’ Integrate and visualize GIS data layers along with DTED elevation models within map-based mission-planning interfaces.
β’ Execute real-time telemetry, command, and control utilizing UDP, TCP, WebSockets, MQTT, or comparable transports.
β’ Facilitate mesh-radio and cellular communications in restricted tactical settings.
β’ Collaborate with backend, autonomy, and field engineering teams.
β’ Deliver features for operators and aid in field exercises and customer presentations.
β’ Integrate direct feedback from the field into the product development roadmap.
β’ Travel for field testing and demonstrations as needed.
β’ Over 7 years of professional experience in Android development, predominantly using Kotlin; Java is acceptable as a secondary language.
β’ Strong expertise in Jetpack components, coroutines, and lifecycle-aware architecture.
β’ Practical experience in integrating and rendering mobile GIS data, including map tiles, vector overlays, WGS84, MGRS, and UTM.
β’ Experience utilizing DTED for line-of-sight, terrain-following, or viewshed functionalities.
β’ Familiarity with osmdroid, MapLibre, Mapbox, or Google Maps SDK.
β’ Understanding of georeferenced rasters, map projections, and coordinate transformations.
β’ Experience in creating low-latency Android data pipelines using sockets, WebSockets, MQTT, gRPC, or Protobuf.
β’ Strong skills in multithreading and offline-first design principles.
β’ Experience in designing ruggedized-device user interfaces suitable for sunlight visibility, glove operation, and unreliable networks.
β’ Ability to work cross-functionally and autonomously with minimal supervision.
β’ Capability to remain composed under operational pressure.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
β’ U.S. security clearance or the ability to obtain one (preferred).
β’ Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency for ITAR/EAR-restricted work.
β’ Must not require sponsorship for export-restricted work authorization.
β’ Successful completion of a post-offer background check is required.
β’ Ability to walk, stand, and navigate large indoor and outdoor facilities for extended periods.
β’ Capacity to lift, carry, and move equipment weighing up to 25 lbs regularly.
β’ Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be necessary in certain areas.
β’ May be required to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
β’ Occasional off-hours or weekend work may be necessary.
β’ Travel of up to 25% of the time may be required.
