Staff AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Finland.

📋 Description

• Establish the technical vision and oversee the architecture for the agentic development pipeline, which includes orchestration, context management, and tool integration.

• Enhance pipeline reliability, throughput, cost-effectiveness, and developer experience across mobile, backend, and web repositories.

• Broaden agentic workflows to encompass specification, testing, automated review, CI failure resolution, release validation, and post-deployment monitoring.

• Rapidly prototype workflows, validate them with real tickets and teams, and solidify successful solutions into production infrastructure.

• Manage evaluation sets, LLM-as-a-judge grading, versioning, tracing, dashboards, and production metrics.

• Create sandboxing, permissions, human checkpoints, and risk-based guardrails with a focus on privacy by design.

• Champion AI-native engineering practices and elevate engineering standards.

• Foster adoption by collaborating with teams and developing paved paths, skills, templates, and documentation.

• Collaborate with platform, developer productivity, security and privacy, AI infrastructure, mobile, backend, product, design, and engineering leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in building and maintaining production systems relied upon by other engineers, including developer tools, internal platforms, or large-scale AI infrastructure.

• Experience in constructing and managing agentic coding workflows or autonomous loops within a real engineering organization, demonstrating adoption and measurable results.

• Comprehensive understanding of specification, review, testing, CI/CD, release, and operations as an integrated system.

• Proven ability to establish technical direction across teams, draft designs, and make architectural and risk-related decisions.

• Strong foundational knowledge in mobile domain or backend APIs, concurrency, distributed systems, testing, debugging, and reliability.

• Proficiency in at least one domain of backend, iOS, or Android, with a willingness to extend into others.

• Awareness of security and privacy obligations when handling sensitive personal data and granting agents access to real systems.

• Capacity to excel in uncertain situations and shape requirements through experimentation.
