This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
β’ Collaborate with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to create AI-driven products.
β’ Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain AI software components, encompassing foundation model training, LLM inference, agents and multi-agent workflows, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability.
β’ Utilize open-source and SaaS AI technologies like AWS Ultraclusters, Hugging Face, VectorDBs, and PyTorch.
β’ Innovate and implement cutting-edge foundation model optimization techniques to enhance scalability, cost efficiency, latency, and throughput.
β’ Contribute to the technical vision and long-term strategy of foundational AI systems.
β’ Establish technical direction for enterprise-level AI architecture and standardize tooling, observability, and deployment practices.
β’ Oversee the design and integration of model routing, caching, and orchestration systems for hybrid and multi-model workloads.
β’ Advocate for responsible AI principles, including transparency, reproducibility, and fairness-by-design.
β’ Promote internal education, mentorship, and the sharing of best practices through architecture councils and AI guilds.
β’ A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields along with a minimum of 8 years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies; OR a Master's degree in these areas plus at least 6 years of experience.
β’ A minimum of 8 years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java.
β’ Proven experience in designing AI systems with trade-off decisions regarding cost, latency, throughput, and accuracy.
β’ 8+ years of experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or comparable private cloud services.
β’ Experience in architecting, designing, developing, integrating, delivering, and supporting complex AI systems.
β’ Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor multiple engineering teams while influencing cross-functional stakeholders up to the VP level.
β’ Experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, including LLM inference, similarity search, VectorDBs, guardrails, and memory.
β’ Skill in optimizing training and inference software for hardware utilization, latency, throughput, and cost.
β’ Experience in building agentic AI systems and workflows.
β’ Excellent communication and presentation skills.
β’ A history of defining and operationalizing enterprise AI architecture standards, including data pipeline governance, observability, and evaluation frameworks.
β’ Experience in leading federated or multi-cloud AI strategies.
β’ Proven experience in influencing research-to-production promotion processes.
β’ Ability to define north-star metrics for AI systems.
β’ Experience in right-sizing models, instance counts, and hardware types.
