Staff Accountant – Restaurant Accounting Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Acquire practical experience with the entire accounting cycle for designated clients.

• Conduct daily reconciliations of bank accounts for several assigned clients.

• Examine, assess, and record daily sales data from restaurants.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies or variances in daily sales and banking activities.

• Assist with accounts payable tasks, including invoice coding and payment processing.

• Communicate with client vendors to address account-related issues.

• Prepare journal entries with necessary supporting documentation.

• Prepare monthly sales tax filings.

• Engage with clients to gather missing information, clarify inquiries, and provide general assistance.

• Deliver customer service to client staff and internal teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent demonstrated work experience.

• Experience in the restaurant or hospitality sector, preferably in a role with P&L accountability.

• Previous experience with Sage Intacct or comparable cloud-based accounting software is advantageous.

• Excellent time management abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and strong follow-through.

• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

• A positive attitude, a collaborative work ethic, and a natural inclination to assist others.

• A quiet and secure workspace at home with minimal distractions.

• A dependable high-speed internet connection.

• Capability to work independently during designated business hours with minimal oversight.

• Ability to prioritize and manage competing tasks and deadlines effectively.

• Strong technological skills and familiarity with modern business SaaS applications and communication platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Box, etc.).

• Comfort in communicating and meeting with clients and team members in a virtual setting, including frequent video conferences.

• Willingness to travel once or twice annually for team meetings.
