This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the daily accounting functions of an expanding pharmaceutical organization.
• Prepare and document journal entries for month-end and year-end closures.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate any discrepancies.
• Prepare reconciliations for monthly balance sheet accounts.
• Maintain supporting schedules for prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Aid in the preparation of monthly financial statements and variance analysis.
• Review vendor invoices to ensure accuracy and proper coding.
• Process employee expense reports in accordance with company policies.
• Monitor vendor payments and address any invoice discrepancies.
• Assist with the matching of purchase orders and invoice approvals.
• Conduct daily cash reconciliations.
• Record banking transactions, including wire transfers and ACH payments.
• Assist in cash forecasting and treasury reporting.
• Support banking administration and account management.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and track additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
• Coordinate periodic physical verifications of assets.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Support external audits and tax compliance by preparing necessary schedules.
• Assist with SOX or internal control documentation, when applicable.
• Maintain accounting documentation and support records.
• Identify opportunities for enhancing accounting processes and efficiencies.
• Engage in ERP system enhancements.
• Assist in the implementation of new accounting standards and internal procedures.
• Report directly to the Assistant Controller.
• Collaborate with teams in Finance, Procurement, Commercial, Clinical, Regulatory, and with external service providers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• CPA certification or CPA candidacy is preferred.
• A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in an accounting-related role.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or life sciences industries is preferred.
• Public accounting experience is an advantage.
• Proficiency in NetSuite ERP is highly desirable.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
