Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Ensure timely and precise recognition of income statements in line with US GAAP standards.

• Take ownership of essential components of the monthly COGS close, including cost allocations and associated accruals.

• Prepare monthly accruals and reversals related to content, technology, and other vendor expenses.

• Maintain a summary analysis of COGS for managerial review.

• Prepare intercompany entries and reclassifications among multiple entities.

• Reconcile accrued expenses and payable accounts, and provide flux explanations for the monthly close review.

• Prepare journal entries in accordance with established procedures.

• Prepare and review analyses of various balance sheet and P&L accounts.

• Prepare month-end journal entries and support the monthly closing process for entities under the AlphaSense umbrella.

• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure that monthly transactions are accurately recorded.

• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and design processes and controls for new business activities.

• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and automation, including AI-enabled workflows.

• Lead the execution of accounting tasks and projects.

• Assist with quarterly, annual, statutory, and sales tax audit requests.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within a SaaS or technology company.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

• Experience with a Big 4 or public accounting firm is preferred.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines during a fast-paced month-end closing process.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with FP&A and other stakeholders.

• Advanced Excel skills are required.

• Proficient understanding of US GAAP, including accrual accounting, multi-entity, and intercompany accounting.

• Familiarity with usage-based or technology vendor costs is a plus.

• Hands-on experience with NetSuite and FloQast or similar ERP and close management tools is preferred.
