Senior Accountant – Profit Sharing Programs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage and reconcile accounts pertaining to profit-sharing retrospective initiatives.

• Calculate and verify profit-sharing distributions in accordance with contractual obligations.

• Generate financial reports, conduct variance analysis, and prepare supporting documentation.

• Execute monthly account reconciliations while upholding effective internal controls.

• Evaluate program performance, identify trends and discrepancies, and drive resolution of issues.

• Create sophisticated financial models and forecasts, presenting findings to leadership.

• Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and Program Management to synchronize financial outcomes with program and contractual agreements.

• Assist with internal and external audits by providing accurate, thorough, and timely documentation.

• Enhance, automate, and optimize accounting and reporting processes.

• Mentor and share knowledge with junior team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, financial reporting, or a similar field.

• Proven experience in managing intricate account reconciliations and financial reporting procedures.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

• Strong capabilities in accounting, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.

• Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.

• Experience working with ERP or financial management systems.

• Ability to interpret contractual terms and translate them into accounting calculations and financial reports.

• Skill in analyzing large or complex data sets, recognizing trends, and conveying actionable insights.

• Capability to independently handle complex reconciliations, reporting demands, and competing priorities.

• CPA or other relevant certifications in accounting or finance are preferred.

• Experience with profit-sharing, retrospective, dealer, or insurance-related programs is advantageous.

• Familiarity with SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar ERP and financial systems is preferred.

• Experience with Tableau and SQL is a plus.

• Background in enhancing or automating accounting, reconciliation, or financial reporting processes is preferred.
