SRE Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of SRE/DevOps engineers.

• Evaluate team requirements and nurture talent alongside engineering leadership.

• Manage incident resolution from start to finish, including on-call schedules, escalation pathways, incident command, postmortems, root cause analysis (RCA), and preventive measures.

• Establish and promote SRE principles such as SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, capacity planning, and observability standards.

• Advocate for reliability and operational excellence within the team.

• Identify and implement enhancements across operational priorities, feature delivery, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.

• Direct and assist the team's daily operations.

• Coordinate a distributed team and support model across IST and US time zones.

• Ensure seamless handoffs, adequate coverage, and effective communication.

• Align infrastructure investments with both business and compliance objectives.

• Provide updates on team health, reliability metrics, and operational performance.

• Support engineering leadership with organization-wide initiatives and roadmap planning.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role within a DevOps/SRE setting.

• Demonstrated experience in leading and coordinating distributed teams across time zones, particularly IST and US, including on-call coverage and handoffs.

• Familiarity with managing an incident response process, covering on-call duties, escalation, incident command, severity frameworks, and conducting blameless postmortems and RCA.

• Strong hands-on expertise in multi-cloud environments, including AWS, Kubernetes (GKE & EKS), managed databases, object storage, networking, and IAM.

• Ability to work flexibly across various cloud service providers.

• Solid experience with Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies utilizing Terraform, Pulumi, or similar tools.

• Proficient with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent platforms.

• Experience with contemporary observability practices and tools, encompassing metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting.
