SRE / DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Enhance the deployment process for our newly developed system.

• Eliminate operational bottlenecks that hinder engineering and feature deployment.

• Fortify our AWS production environment, which is currently built on ECS and containers.

• Optimize our GitHub Actions CI/CD workflows.

• Collaborate with Terraform / OpenTofu to enhance infrastructure security, clarity, and ease of modification.

• Improve debugging capabilities in production across AWS, containers, networking, Linux, and application-level challenges.

• Advance our observability in the three key areas: metrics, logs, and traces.

• Develop or refine runbooks, repository instructions, service maps, deployment guides, and operational documentation.

• Implement agentic engineering workflows that assist engineers in diagnosing issues, proposing solutions, and validating changes prior to production deployment.

• Create safety guardrails for agent-assisted tasks: covering permissions, approval processes, audit trails, sandboxing, rollback protocols, and human review.


⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience in SRE, DevOps, platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, or production operations.

• Experience in a production AWS environment.

• Familiarity with ECS and containerized services.

• Proficiency in GitHub Actions.

• Experience with Terraform and/or OpenTofu.

• Knowledge of CI/CD, Linux, networking, and production debugging.

• Strong capabilities in observability across metrics, logs, and traces.

• Competence in writing production-quality code or scripts using TypeScript and Bash.

• Ability to read and modify infrastructure, CI/CD, and application code.

• Sound judgment regarding production risks, automation, permissions, and rollback strategies.

• Kubernetes experience is a plus.

• Proficiency in Ruby is advantageous.

• Experience in developing internal developer platforms or self-service infrastructure.

• Familiarity with coding agents, AI-assisted engineering workflows, repository-level agent instructions, evaluations, or agent guardrails.

• Background in enhancing incident response, deployment safety, or on-call quality.
