SQL/SSIS, Oracle Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain robust SSIS packages for ETL workflows, transforming data, and automating data loads.

• Analyze Oracle database schemas, stored procedures, functions, and packages, re-engineering them in T-SQL to ensure compatibility with SQL Server.

• Create complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, triggers, and functions to fulfill business logic and reporting needs.

• Conduct data profiling, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation to guarantee accuracy and completeness during the migration process.

• Collaborate with business analysts, DBAs, and project managers to gather requirements and convert them into technical solutions.

• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and optimization of ETL pipelines and SQL scripts.

• Document strategies for migration, data mapping specifications, ETL workflows, and technical runbooks.

• Monitor and resolve issues related to ETL job failures, data discrepancies, and performance bottlenecks in both production and staging environments.

• Enhance SQL queries and SSIS packages for improved performance utilizing indexing strategies, query plans, and execution profiling.

• Ensure adherence to data governance, security policies, and regulatory standards throughout the migration process.

• Provide post-migration support, addressing issues and monitoring performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in building and managing SSIS packages, encompassing control flow, data flow, event handling, and error management.

• Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022), including T-SQL, query optimization, indexing, and database architecture.

• Significant experience with Oracle (10g/11g/12c/19c), including PL/SQL, various Oracle data types, sequences, and schema administration.

• Demonstrated experience in executing migrations from Oracle to SQL Server, covering schema conversion, data mapping, and validation processes.

• Proficient in developing scalable ETL pipelines for large datasets with a focus on data quality and transformation logic.

• Skilled in using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and Visual Studio (SSDT).

• Proficient with Oracle SQL Developer or TOAD.

• Experience utilizing Microsoft SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) for Oracle.

• Familiarity with SSIS Catalog and SQL Server Agent for job scheduling.

• Experience with version control systems such as Git, Azure DevOps, or TFS is preferred.

• Experience with reporting integration tools such as SSRS or Power BI is advantageous.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or a comparable SQL Server certification is preferred.

• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory (ADF) or other cloud-based ETL platforms is preferred.

• Understanding of data warehousing concepts, including star schema, snowflake schema, and slowly changing dimensions is preferred.

• Experience in Azure cloud environments is preferred.

• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies is preferred.

• Experience with data lineage and metadata management tools is preferred.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
