SQL Server Database Administrator – Mid-Level

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Manage SQL Server, SQL Clusters, and standalone SQL databases.

• Perform patching, installations, and routine maintenance activities.

• Execute and validate failovers, backups, and restoration processes.

• Provide support for MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MS Access databases.

• Diagnose database and application issues, including those related to SharePoint.

• Address ServiceNow tickets and RFCs in accordance with SLAs.

• Oversee system monitoring using Idera and SolarWinds, and create dashboards.

• Contribute to the preparation of weekly activity reports.

• Collaborate with a senior SQL DBA to support GPO's SQL Server and SQL Cluster environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in database administration, focusing on SQL Server.

• Proficient in SQL Clustering, T-SQL, and SQL scripting.

• Familiarity with Oracle, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB.

• Experience in creating and managing standalone SQL databases.

• Strong capability to work independently and communicate effectively.

• Preferred: Microsoft SQL Server or Azure data certification.

• Preferred: Experience in federal support roles.

• This position supports a U.S. Government client and requires work within the U.S.

• Availability for 8 hours a day between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM ET.

• Willingness to perform periodic after-hours work for patching and reboots.
