MySQL Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage highly available and efficient MySQL databases.

• Provide support for production databases located in global data centers.

• Set up, monitor, and resolve issues related to MySQL replication and clustering.

• Generate database reports and queries for internal stakeholders.

• Conduct performance tuning, backup and recovery, and proactive monitoring.

• Diagnose complex database issues to ensure system availability.

• Automate database tasks utilizing Python, Shell, or Bash scripting.

• Document database architectures, processes, and operational guidelines.

• Adhere to change management processes for production environments.

• Collaborate closely with Operations and Development teams to facilitate scalable, mission-critical databases and cloud modernization initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of overall professional experience.

• More than 3 years of hands-on MySQL administration.

• Experience with GCP preferred, or AWS cloud database technologies.

• Strong understanding of MySQL implementation, performance tuning, and master-master replication.

• Proficient with MySQL administration tools and monitoring performance indicators, including IO, CPU, and queries.

• Experience in writing SQL queries for reporting and analytics.

• Solid knowledge of Linux as it pertains to database administration.

• Scripting skills in Python preferred, along with Shell or Bash.

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Exposure to SQL Server administration is a plus.

• Experience with data warehousing, such as Google BigQuery, is advantageous.

• Familiarity with automation tools for database provisioning and monitoring is a plus.
