
Sports Broadcast Operations Center Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Oversee, organize, and execute live sports broadcasts across various satellite and digital platforms.
• Handle audio acquisition, metadata, broadcast automation, signal routing, and quality assurance for concurrent live events.
• Operate, monitor, and resolve issues with satellite, IP, Audio over IP, baseband, digital audio workstations, automation systems, routing systems, health dashboards, metadata tools, and technical alarms.
• Collaborate with Programming, Broadcast Engineering, Sports Board Operators, and third-party vendors on live broadcasts.
• Record incidents, escalate operational risks, and guarantee seamless event execution.
• Engage in operational testing, disaster recovery drills, workflow enhancements, automation projects, and high-availability validation.
• Create operational procedures and maintain precise incident documentation.
• Independently manage competing priorities and make decisions during live broadcasts.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in broadcast operations.
• A Bachelor's degree in Broadcasting, Communications, Media, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in digital audio editing, broadcast automation, quality assurance, digital routing, and live sports broadcast operations.
• Familiarity with Zetta by RCS, digital audio routing, Audio over IP, broadcast signal flow, satellite and IP codecs, transport stream over IP, metadata management, broadcast monitoring, operational analytics, and ServiceNow.
• Capability to interpret audio and metadata signal flows, troubleshoot broadcast failures, monitor system alarms and logs, and respond effectively to operational incidents.
• Strong understanding of major North American professional and collegiate sports and live sporting events.
• Proficient in Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and email applications.
• Ability to manage multiple live events in a high-pressure setting.
• Exceptional organizational, communication, proofreading, problem-solving, time management, and decision-making skills.
• Availability on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm EST.
