Special Utilities Billing Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate claims that are currently on hold, pinpoint reasons, and resolve issues hindering their release.

• Address claims that are pending, unable to be released, denied, or inaccurately processed by insurance providers.

• Retrieve deposit details for claims marked as paid.

• Conduct basic credentialing updates with insurance organizations.

• Assess patient accounts with multiple transports to ensure proper coordination of benefits.

• Manage EMS lockbox communications, which includes denial EOBs, patient invoices, and requests from attorneys.

• Accurately record findings and actions in the relevant systems while adhering to HIPAA and internal quality standards.

• Reach out to insurance companies via phone to gather claim status and deposit details.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or its equivalent is mandatory.

• Proficient computer skills with a fundamental understanding of MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

• Minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute.

• Capacity to manage a high workload while adhering to tight deadlines.

• Familiarity with and comfort in handling insurance claims.

• Ability to maintain composure and effectively address situations over the phone while upholding a positive company image.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capability to present information and solutions professionally and courteously.

• Strong attention to detail and precision.

• Proficiency in organizing and prioritizing tasks to ensure completion of all assigned work.

• Ability to independently oversee all facets of the job, including meeting goals and adhering to business practices in a remote setting.

• Availability to work Monday through Friday during standard business hours on an Eastern Time schedule.
