This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Stay informed about regional popular culture and news, identifying opportunities for PETA Latino to feature its message in news stories.
• Investigate outreach opportunities through media, campaigns, and connections with celebrities and influencers.
• Coordinate celebrity and influencer initiatives, including organizing photo shoots and overseeing the production and editing of print, radio, and TV commercials, along with social media campaigns.
• Establish and maintain relationships with animal rights advocates and organizations in South America, collaborating with them to promote animal rights in their regions.
• Organize pro-animal demonstrations in Colombia, Argentina, and nearby areas.
• Build and nurture relationships with professionals in the music and entertainment industries across Colombia, Argentina, and the surrounding regions.
• Research and connect with popular celebrities and online influencers in Colombia and Argentina.
• Create scripts, advertising copy, and text for celebrity correspondence and campaigns.
• Collaborate with the PETA Latino team to brainstorm new projects that ensure continued media visibility for PETA Latino’s efforts.
• Represent the organization to the media throughout South America.
• Cultivate relationships with media personnel in South America.
• Develop target lists and media strategies, and distribute news releases for issue and campaign coverage.
• Provide guidance to PETA Latino’s social media team on region-specific content.
• Travel both internationally and domestically as required for assignments.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least two years of experience in marketing or public relations.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish, encompassing speaking, reading, and writing skills.
• Established interest and strong knowledge of Latin American culture.
• Excellent public speaking abilities and comfort with conducting media interviews.
• Solid understanding of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns.
• Advanced comprehension of creative work.
• Demonstrated capability in conducting and analyzing marketing research.
• Proven project management, strategic thinking, and analytical skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as a collaborative team member.
• Proven capacity to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Professional demeanor and ability to interact with a diverse range of individuals.
• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
