This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +1 more state.
• Conduct onsite audits as well as pre-audit and post-audit activities for specialized processes such as Calibration, Heat Treat, Machining, Chemical Processing/Plating, Thermal Spray, Welding, and Shot Peening.
• Travel to various locations in the US, Mexico, and Europe to perform audits.
• Audit Special Processes at key Aerospace customers' manufacturing facilities and their suppliers.
• Collaborate with site locations and clients to assess compliance with relevant special process requirements.
• Execute audits utilizing customer-specific and industry-standard checklists.
• Record opportunities for improvement and findings of noncompliance.
• Partner with sites to ensure timely and effective completion of robust corrective actions.
• Analyze data, outline actions, and implement solutions.
• Lead intricate projects and oversee the activities of multidisciplinary teams.
• Engage with all levels of leadership and work effectively within culturally diverse organizations.
• Foster constructive and transparent environments for data sharing.
• Make decisions based on facts and communicate recommendations to team members.
• A Bachelor’s or associate’s degree with five (5) years of technical experience in heat treating, or a high school diploma paired with ten (10) years of heat treating experience in Aerospace Quality or Special Process.
• Experience in heat treating and/or brazing as an Operator, Supervisor, Technician, or Engineer with direct involvement in process, equipment, or procedure qualification, or technical problem-solving.
• US citizenship is mandatory.
• Technical knowledge/experience in Special Process family validated in writing by the applicable CAA, through exam, interview, or documented training/experience; this requirement is waived if already certified as an SCA.
• Completion of 40 hours in Quality System training, auditing, and use of Acceptance Checklists.
• At least two T1 and T2 Special Process training audits conducted under qualified supervision for each Special Process category, unless prior audit experience is recognized by the applicable CAA.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
• Experience with PRI Audits is highly preferred.
• Qualified auditor compliant with industry standards for AS9100 and proficient in two or more special processes.
• Knowledge pertaining to special processes relevant to client locations and suppliers, particularly in Heat Treat, Welding, Nonconventional Machining, Chemical Processing, and Surface Enhancement.
• Familiarity with aerospace quality practices and industry standards.
• Strong computer skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
• Comfort with virtual communication and meeting platforms such as Teams or similar tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in project management and facilitation.
• Capability to effectively interact with all levels of leadership.
• Ability to recognize risks and implement mitigating actions.
• Strong interpersonal skills in culturally diverse environments.
• Good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for executing solutions.
• Knowledge and application of statistical analysis methods is preferred.
• Exceptional team-building abilities.
• Experience working with aerospace products.
• Proven leadership skills to drive improvements in quality performance.
