This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct audits of medical records to verify clinical documentation that supports evaluation and management services, ancillary services, procedures, diagnoses, as well as identifying documentation requirements and gaps.
• Evaluate project guidelines to ensure that deliverables are completed on schedule and satisfy client-specific needs.
• Investigate regulatory guidelines pertaining to supporting documentation.
• Compile audit summary findings, provide detailed comments, and offer recommendations.
• Uphold production standards and quality metrics of 95% or higher.
• Adhere to departmental audit standards, clinical documentation standards, protocols, and guidelines.
• Contribute to departmental KPIs and SLAs.
• Broaden understanding across additional functional areas and enhance skills to support the evolving needs of the organization and clients.
• Recognize opportunities for process improvement and assist in workflow and operational enhancements.
• Create oral and/or written reports on audit activities for the Manager.
• Meet regularly with the Manager to assess individual performance, mentoring, and succession planning.
• A minimum of 5 years of auditing experience is required.
• Significant auditing experience across various specialties is necessary.
• In-depth knowledge of AMA, OIG, CMS, and other national coding and compliance regulations is essential.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Capability to manage an entire project independently.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on meeting deadlines.
• Ability to think critically and determine the most effective approach for task completion.
• Proficient computer skills, including Excel, Word, and internet usage.
• Capacity to handle multiple tasks while maintaining a sense of urgency.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Strong organizational skills, time management abilities, and a solid work ethic.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods and use a keyboard and mouse.
• CPC® and CPMA certification is mandatory.
• RHIT or CPMA™ certification is required.
