Special Education Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Oversee instructional programs designed for students with special needs from a home office located in Missouri.

• Offer instructional support, virtual teaching, and general strategies for a designated group of students.

• Create, draft, and assist in executing IEPs and 504 plans.

• Assess tests and evaluations, complete report cards, and host parent conferences.

• Engage with parents and learning coaches to ensure IEP objectives are achieved and student requirements are met.

• Collaborate with teachers to coordinate specialized instruction for students with distinct needs and learning challenges.

• Deliver direct student services through web-conferencing software as necessary.

• Plan, organize, and conduct virtual meetings related to IEPs.

• Participate in the school’s Student Support Team.

• Assist teachers and learning coaches in developing and implementing program modifications and strategies.

• Support with IEP documentation, paperwork, and procedures.

• Help identify and contract service providers for related services.

• Keep precise data in the Learning Management System and special education software.

• Assist with state assessments and coordinate special adaptations required by IEPs.

• Execute other assigned duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related educational field.

• Valid certification in Special Education for the state of Missouri.

• Experience in policy (IDEA) and/or administrative roles within Special Education.

• Proficient technology skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Customer-oriented mindset.

• High level of adaptability.

• Proven capability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.

• History of being a collaborative team player.

• Willingness to travel occasionally for marketing and state testing events, which may require overnight stays.

• Must possess a personal electronic device and an email address for 2-step authentication.
