This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Translate member materials from English to Spanish utilizing computer-aided translation (CAT) software; written documents encompass correspondence regarding benefits as well as educational content.
• Modify translations as necessary to accurately reflect the style, tone, and intent of the original text, ensuring the creation of culturally and linguistically suitable materials.
• Confirm that translations accurately convey meanings and comply with specified reading level standards.
• Ensure that the translated content aligns with brand identity and style guidelines.
• Offer proofreading and editing services as required to enhance the quality and precision of translated documents submitted by vendors or contractors.
• Collaborate daily with copywriters, graphic designers, project managers, and reviewers to develop products that meet all established standards.
• Seek clarification whenever ambiguity arises to guarantee that the source text is accurately transferred into the target language.
• Manage submissions with time-sensitive deadlines alongside longer-term project timelines.
• At least 3 years of experience in providing English to Spanish translation services.
• Capability to pass a translation assessment.
• Familiarity with CAT software.
• Experience in proofreading and editing.
• Preferred qualifications include current American Translator Association (ATA) translation certification, a postsecondary degree in translation, and/or relevant coursework in translation.
• Proficiency in reading and writing at the ILR level 4x (i.e., Advanced Professional Proficiency).
• Experience in Desktop Publishing (DTP).
• Knowledge of quality assurance processes.
• Background in working with alternative formats such as large print and audio.
• Experience in translating healthcare and marketing materials.
• Familiarity with working within a corporate or agency creative team.
