
Spanish Payroll Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
• Oversee the complete payroll processing cycle in accordance with the monthly payroll schedule, ensuring adherence to Spanish laws and statutory deadlines.
• Collaborate effectively with Operations to verify and reconcile payroll data and reports, ensuring all information complies with legal and client standards.
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies prior to processing, and review outputs to confirm accuracy.
• Maintain payroll records and documentation for auditing and compliance purposes.
• Prepare and upload monthly payroll reports to the CloudPay platform.
• Handle all communications and submissions related to Spanish Social Security, including registrations, amendments, sick leave, and parental leave, utilizing systems such as SILTRA, CONTRAT@, CERTIFIC@, and DELTA.
• Manage monthly submissions of Social Security contributions and resolve any issues that may hinder timely payment.
• Coordinate the calculation and prompt submission of tax declarations to AEAT, which includes models 111, 216, 190, 296, and 345.
• Assist with payroll testing and parallel runs for the implementation of new clients or system modifications.
• Work collaboratively with the Implementation team to ensure a seamless transition of new payroll accounts to the in-house team.
• Contribute to the setup and configuration validations to guarantee that all client information is accurate and complete for payroll processing.
• Significant hands-on experience in managing comprehensive Spanish payroll processing.
• Strong understanding of Spanish payroll laws, compliance, and statutory reporting obligations.
• Proficiency in managing intricate payroll components such as benefits-in-kind, flexible remuneration, stock options/RSUs, and scenarios involving non-resident employees.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English (minimum English proficiency: B2).
• Skilled in using essential business tools, including Microsoft Excel, Word, email systems, and Google Apps.
• Confident in decision-making, proactive in planning, and capable of managing priorities independently.
• Familiarity with Wolters Kluwer A3 software and SUMAR is an advantage.
• Experience in international payroll environments is a plus.
