This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Oversee the comprehensive definition of **spacecraft avionics architecture** from start to finish.
• Establish the decomposition of systems and the interface strategy among on-board computers and payloads.
• Design high-speed networking payloads, backplanes, and concepts for system boot and recovery.
• Develop solid **Failure Detection, Isolation, and Recovery** strategies, encompassing safe-mode operations and watchdog mechanisms.
• Create and update the technical baseline documentation, which includes architecture diagrams and design rationales.
• Conduct engineering evaluations concerning **radiation tolerance, EMI/EMC, signal integrity, and power distribution**.
• Work in collaboration with teams in networking, GNC, RF, software, FPGA, and mechanical engineering.
• Assist in making informed technical decisions regarding architectural trade-offs and system limitations.
• A Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 10 years of experience in spacecraft avionics, high-speed digital electronics, or sophisticated embedded hardware systems.
• Demonstrated experience in architecting distributed systems utilizing processors, FPGAs/SoCs, and high-speed interfaces.
• Proficiency in **ATOP** and **MOIS**.
• In-depth knowledge of **EGS-CC operations procedure language / EAPL**.
• Familiarity with **ECSS PUS**.
• Understanding of **ECSS-E-ST-70** guidance.
