Sourcing & Procurement Manager – Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Identify, assess, and compile a list of primarily overseas manufacturers and suppliers for construction and building materials.

• Solicit and compare quotes, samples, and technical data sheets against design and material requirements.

• Develop and sustain a vetted vendor list that includes pricing, lead times, certifications, and performance evaluations.

• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery agreements with suppliers.

• Convert architectural and construction material schedules and specifications into purchase orders.

• Monitor orders from quote to delivery and keep the team informed about status and potential risks.

• Collaborate with finance on project budgets, payments, and cost management.

• Coordinate international shipping to project locations in Texas in collaboration with freight forwarders and customs brokers.

• Oversee export/import documentation, shipping timelines, and delivery schedules.

• Strategize orders around construction timelines.

• Confirm compliance with health, sustainability, quality standards, U.S. building codes, and certification requirements.

• Organize pre-shipment inspections and address supplier quality concerns.

• Establish sourcing, order, and shipment tracking systems and workflows.

• Identify opportunities to cut costs and minimize lead times as the company expands.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–6 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the construction or building materials sector.

• Practical experience with international or export sourcing, including collaboration with overseas suppliers.

• Familiarity with export and import documentation, freight forwarding, and customs procedures.

• Excellent negotiation abilities and experience managing multiple vendors simultaneously.

• Capability to interpret material specifications and technical data sheets.

• Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets for tracking orders, costs, and schedules.

• Experience sourcing for U.S. projects or knowledge of U.S. building codes and certifications is highly advantageous.

• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, remote, cross-cultural environment.

• Strong, proactive communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

• Available to start immediately or within 30 days.
