Sonic Audit Specialist – Korean

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Korea.

📋 Description

• Conduct audits on Multilingual Transcription tasks by listening to audio, reviewing the annotator's transcriptions, applying error codes, assigning pass/fail verdicts, and providing rationales.

• Perform audits on Forced Alignment tasks by confirming word-level timestamps and the accuracy of reference transcriptions.

• Correct erroneous boundaries, either by splitting or merging segments, adding missing segments, and removing wordless segments.

• Utilize all relevant error codes and articulate pass/fail decisions in straightforward language.

• Prioritize identifying critical errors to ensure that the reasons for failure are clearly understood.

• Complete a brief calibration phase prior to commencing production work.

• Engage in Amazon Sonic audit collections that support AI training data.

• Contribute to the training and improvement of advanced AI systems through Mercor projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in Korean as spoken in South Korea.

• Must have been born and raised in an area where Korean and this specific variety is prevalent, or be fully fluent with five or more years of residency in such a region.

• Strong reading and writing skills in English.

• Capability to comprehend a detailed rulebook and provide clear feedback in English.

• Disciplined and consistent application of rubrics.

• Attentive listening abilities, including the capacity to differentiate between similar sounds and word boundaries in continuous speech.

• Prior experience in transcription, subtitling, localization, linguistic annotation, or quality assurance is highly valued.

• Helpful but not mandatory: experience in AI data annotation or model evaluation.

• Helpful but not mandatory: background in phonetics or linguistics.

• Helpful but not mandatory: experience with audio editing or waveform tools.

• Must be able to operate as an independent contractor.

• H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not eligible.
