This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Oversee the design, development, and execution of software solutions that enhance health plan operations, employing innovative strategies to achieve organizational goals.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to collect requirements and provide scalable, high-performance technical solutions that align with business objectives.
• Create, sustain, and support full-stack web applications and their codebases, focusing on performance, scalability, usability, and engineering best practices.
• Design database schemas, data models, and backend services that underpin application functionality, reporting systems, and complex member outcome calculations.
• Generate, refine, and uphold SQL queries, stored procedures, and C# applications, ensuring integration with .NET, SQL Server, and external systems.
• Craft and sustain JavaScript and TypeScript solutions for web applications utilizing frameworks such as Angular, AngularJS, and jQuery.
• Convert technical and functional requirements into SQL and/or C# solutions alongside backend implementations.
• Design, develop, and manage business intelligence and data warehousing solutions, including performance enhancements, optimization, and comprehensive documentation.
• Oversee, troubleshoot, and enhance Microsoft SQL Server databases, focusing on performance optimization, issue resolution, and reliability improvements.
• Create and support automation workflows for data movement, reporting, validation, and integration with third-party systems.
• Supervise SQL Server Agent jobs, scheduling tasks, and enterprise database operations, including backups and disaster recovery measures.
• Produce data flow diagrams, data models, and documentation to ensure data governance and system transparency.
• Develop reporting tools, automated health checks, and validation processes in partnership with internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with IT and Network Security teams to guarantee system security, integrity, and performance optimization.
• Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve system defects, data inconsistencies, and performance challenges across applications and reporting frameworks.
• Analyze and validate data across multiple systems to maintain accuracy and consistency in reporting outputs.
• Assess and adopt emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance system capabilities and performance.
• Offer technical mentorship and support to members of the development team.
• Ensure system availability, performance, and reliability across all supported platforms.
• Execute additional tasks as assigned to support departmental and organizational operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Over 10 years of experience in software development or solutions engineering, ideally within health plan settings.
• A valid driver’s license, up-to-date vehicle insurance, and the capacity to travel locally as necessary for business needs.
• Extensive expertise in database technologies, networks, and server operating systems and hardware.
• Strong foundation in web development, including JavaScript, TypeScript, jQuery, Angular, ASP.NET, and Node.js.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C# for application development and system integration.
• Comprehensive understanding of RESTful APIs, HL7 standards, and healthcare interoperability.
• Familiarity with healthcare data regulations, including HIPAA and CMS requirements.
• Experience in relational database administration, including Microsoft SQL Server installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Background in Windows Server environments and SQL Server database systems.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Experience with health plan management systems, data analytics tools, and cloud platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and produce actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across interdisciplinary teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities within a dynamic environment.
• Microsoft Azure Database Administrator certification (or equivalent), or the willingness to obtain it within one year.
