This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• On an average day, you may find yourself: processing satellite imagery through a pipeline and validating the results; troubleshooting a geospatial join using Python; collaborating with a Customer Success Manager to review a draft analysis prior to customer delivery; engaging with a utility vegetation manager to discuss findings and adapt based on feedback; converting a notebook into a reusable script for the team; or conceptualizing how a recurring customer request could evolve into a product feature.

• Ensure that our customers derive maximum value from Overstory through technical and analytical efforts.

• Manage customer projects from start to finish, encompassing data requests and processing through analysis to customer-ready deliverables, in close collaboration with Customer Success.

• Work with extensive geospatial datasets (both vector and raster) sourced from Overstory's platform, clients, and third-party vendors — processing, validating, analyzing, and transforming them into actionable outputs for customers.

• Establish strong relationships with customer representatives. Interpret technical findings into actionable recommendations that influence decisions and lead to improved outcomes for our clients.

• Lay the technical groundwork for future productization efforts.

• Recognize patterns in customer work that warrant standardization and productization, converting unique projects into repeatable processes.

• Enhance engineering quality to facilitate easier validation, handoff, and scalability of analytical work.

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to develop the productization roadmap.

• Improve the analytics workflows and infrastructure that bolster both customer impact and future productization efforts.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–4 years of professional experience handling large, intricate geospatial datasets in a customer- or stakeholder-facing role.

• Proficiency with a Python-centric analytical and engineering stack — including Python, Jupyter, git/GitHub, and command-line workflows.

• Proven experience in successfully managing multiple projects at once.

• A strong attention to detail and a thorough approach to data handling.

• Demonstrated experience (or at least a strong interest) in utilizing AI tools to enhance your work.

• Established ability to tackle ambiguous challenges and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey technical findings to non-technical audiences and to build rapport with customer representatives.

• A passion for addressing climate challenges through data-driven solutions.

🏝️ Benefits

• We hold an annual in-person gathering for our memorable team event.

• Additionally, we provide opportunities for occasional in-person collaboration.
