This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop, assess, and troubleshoot transform scripts that alter storefront responses at the edge, ensuring accuracy across various device types, locales, and customer segments.
• Proactively oversee customer trials and swiftly address any issues or irregularities, whether through code modifications or internal escalations — prompt resolution is essential.
• Utilize browser DevTools, Honeycomb, and our client's internal APIs to identify caching discrepancies, TTFB regressions, and personalization conflicts in live environments.
• Manage the technical relationship with a range of merchant accounts — serving as the main engineering contact for escalations.
• Create internal tools, documentation, and playbooks that enhance the team's capacity to onboard and assist customers more efficiently.
• Gather product feedback from real-world experiences — you will have unique exposure to practical edge cases, and your insights will directly influence the product roadmap.
• 2–5 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role or engineering position (solutions engineering, forward deployed engineering, full-stack engineer, or a similar role).
• Proficiency in JavaScript — you are adept at reading, writing, and debugging JS within a browser context independently.
• Strong comprehension of web mechanics: HTTP, caching headers, CDNs, DNS, and browser rendering processes.
• Experience with Shopify storefronts (Liquid, Hydrogen, or headless) is highly advantageous; familiarity with SFCC or other enterprise platforms is a plus.
• Ability to work in production environments under pressure — you know how to diagnose an issue, formulate a hypothesis, and validate it without causing disruptions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills — you can articulate a cache invalidation strategy to a merchant's VP of Engineering and their Head of eCommerce in a single discussion.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Cloudflare Workers, CDN configuration, or edge compute platforms.
• Understanding of A/B testing frameworks and experimentation tools.
• Background in e-commerce performance optimization (Core Web Vitals, LCP, TTFB).
• Experience collaborating across GitHub repositories in a team-oriented engineering environment.
