Solutions Architect – Digital

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as a Solutions Architect within the RxBenefits Product Engineering Organization, responsible for defining, designing, and documenting comprehensive solution architectures that empower delivery teams to effectively design, build, and deploy scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions.

• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering Leadership, Delivery, CloudOps, Security, and IT Teams.

• Convert business and product requirements into clear, actionable solution designs and offer architectural guidance during development while maintaining a position outside of direct scrum team leadership.

• Create end-to-end solution and reference architectures that encompass applications, APIs, integrations, data platforms, identity, and cloud infrastructure.

• Work together with Product, Engineering Managers, and other stakeholders to comprehend business requirements and transform them into scalable technical solutions.

• Develop proofs of concept (POCs), automation scripts, tools, and reference implementations across application, data, security, AI, and integration scenarios.

• Establish architectural standards, patterns, and best practices to guarantee consistency and quality across teams.

• Provide architectural guidance and clarify design aspects to development teams during implementation as required.

• Review and validate technical designs to ensure they align with the approved solution architecture.

• Promote collaboration across teams and departments to ensure seamless integration of solutions across systems.

• Engage in solution ideation, technical discovery, and discussions regarding product strategy.

• Assess trade-offs and offer recommendations on architecture options, technologies, and design methodologies.

• Contribute to the development and documentation of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and architectural governance processes.

• Ensure that solutions comply with non-functional requirements such as scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.

• Facilitate technical decision-making while empowering delivery teams to take charge of implementation specifics.

• Meet personal and organizational deadlines and objectives.

• Perform all other assigned duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of substantial software engineering experience in designing and documenting solution architectures for complex software systems, with a minimum of 5 years in software architecture or system design roles.

• Strong understanding of functional and object-oriented programming paradigms.

• Experience with microservices-based and distributed architectures.

• Knowledge of SOLID design principles and common architectural patterns.

• Proficient in REST-based APIs and integration patterns.

• Experience operating in Agile delivery environments.

• Ability to effectively communicate intricate technical concepts through both written documentation and verbal discussions.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

• Proven capability to collaborate efficiently across engineering, product, and business teams.

• A desire to innovate, assess new technologies, and continuously enhance architectural practices.

• Experience in supporting multiple delivery teams in a solution or enterprise architecture role (preferred).

• Familiarity with collaborating with onshore and offshore development teams (preferred).

• Demonstrated ability to design solution architectures that are aligned with business outcomes (preferred).

• Background in full-stack development (e.g., Java, Python, React, React Native, etc.) (preferred).

• Proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudFormation, ECS/EKS, VPC, IAM, etc. (preferred).

• Experience in designing or supporting serverless architectures using AWS Lambda (preferred).

• Familiarity with NoSQL and/or document-based databases (e.g., DynamoDB) (preferred).

• Understanding of cloud security best practices and identity management (e.g., Auth0) (preferred).

• Experience with caching and in-memory data technologies (preferred).

• Knowledge of responsive front-end frameworks and modern UI architectures (preferred).

• Experience with microservices, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), and event-driven architectures (preferred).

• Understanding of asynchronous and multi-threaded programming models (preferred).

• Exposure to the healthcare and/or pharmacy benefits administration sector is a plus (preferred).

• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer) are preferred.
