This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Troubleshoot intricate issues across Python applications, frameworks, dependencies, CI/CD processes, runtime environments, and platform integrations.
• Develop tools, automation, and diagnostic solutions to prevent and resolve issues.
• Establish yourself as a trusted authority on Netflix’s Python platform and developer tools.
• Transform recurring developer challenges into enhancements in tools, documentation, workflows, and platform capabilities.
• Collaborate with the Python Platform and other engineering teams to address cross-system challenges.
• Offer top-notch technical support to Netflix engineers.
• Assist engineers in building, debugging, and operating applications on the Python developer platform and paved paths.
• Proven software engineering experience in building, debugging, or managing production systems.
• Expertise in Python, with a history of debugging and contributing to production code, libraries, or frameworks.
• Familiarity with Python packaging and dependency management, including pip, pyproject.toml, virtual environments, and wheels.
• Experience with Python frameworks and development tools such as FastAPI and Flask.
• Practical experience utilizing AI coding assistants and agentic tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and MCP.
• Experience debugging unfamiliar codebases and diagnosing issues across various system layers, such as dependencies, build and CI/CD systems, runtime performance, concurrency or async I/O, distributed systems, or service-to-service integrations.
• Ability to comprehend and analyze framework and library internals.
• Proven capability to take ownership of ambiguous technical challenges and drive them to resolution.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Passion for enhancing developer productivity and engineering workflows at scale.
• Nice to have: experience in platform engineering, developer productivity, or internal tools.
• Nice to have: experience in SRE, resilience engineering, fault injection, chaos testing, or progressive delivery.
• Nice to have: experience with large-scale AWS or Kubernetes.
• Nice to have: JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or multi-stack debugging experience.
• Option to work from the Warsaw office for in-person collaboration or onboarding as required.
