This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Perform comprehensive evaluations of Android applications and SDKs to gain insights into their code structure, architecture, and functionality while identifying potential vulnerabilities.
• Utilize decompilation, disassembly, and debugging techniques to retrieve data from codebases.
• Detect risks associated with users and devices, data leakage, and the execution of malicious code in Android applications and SDKs.
• Collect, assess, and disseminate threat intelligence concerning Android malware, exploits, and the latest security trends.
• Work collaboratively with security researchers, developers, and other stakeholders to communicate findings and offer recommendations.
• Play a role in the advancement of secure applications and ecosystems.
• A minimum of 3–5+ years of experience in Android Development, Reverse Engineering, Pentesting, Application Security Assessments, or Capture the Flag (CTF) challenges.
• Practical experience in analyzing, unpacking, and reverse engineering the code of malicious applications or SDKs.
• Familiarity with both static and dynamic analysis methodologies.
• Proficient in reverse engineering tools such as Jadx, Ghidra, Frida, IDA Pro, and Burp for binary and APK analysis.
• Knowledge of programming languages including Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, Flutter, and other mobile software languages.
• Experience in reverse engineering ELF (native binaries).
• Capability to develop signatures using SQL, YARA, or similar technologies.
• Understanding of Android activity lifecycles, common API usage, AOSP, and the application development process for Android.
• Awareness of techniques employed by malicious applications to compromise users' devices or data.
• Knowledge of mobile app store regulations.
• Proficiency in network traffic analysis and security principles.
• Conduct threat research utilizing open-source intelligence sources such as VirusTotal, the web, ExploitDB, and MITRE.
• Familiarity with encoding and cryptography principles.
• Understanding of authentication mechanisms and security protocols.
• Knowledge regarding device rooting.
• Experience with complex frameworks and application packers.
