Solution Architect – AWS Platform, Cloud Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design and enhance the platform architecture on AWS, incorporating EKS, ECR, Fargate, cluster design, namespace strategies, and ensuring high availability.

• Develop security frameworks suitable for regulated environments, focusing on Zero Trust, IAM/RBAC, container security, encryption, audit logging, and network segmentation.

• Create asynchronous, loosely coupled system landscapes utilizing Kafka/MSK, EventBridge, and SNS/SQS, as well as implementing Saga, CQRS, and Event Sourcing patterns.

• Apply Everything-as-Code principles through Terraform or CDK and Policy-as-Code methodologies using OPA/Gatekeeper.

• Execute GitOps deployments via ArgoCD or Flux.

• Engage in operational activities during incidents, conduct post-incident reviews, and contribute to relevant architectural decisions.

• Collaborate productively with AI tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, and Cursor.

• Depending on the project, tackle platform and architectural challenges for large corporations, the public sector, and both enterprise and mid-market clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• Senior-level position requiring over five years of relevant experience.

• Proven experience in building and managing Kubernetes platforms on AWS, with a focus on EKS, ECR, and Fargate.

• Demonstrated expertise in security architecture within complex enterprise environments, particularly with Zero Trust, IAM/RBAC, container security, and compliance.

• Familiarity with event-driven architecture utilizing Kafka or AWS equivalents, including consistency patterns.

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code and GitOps, specifically with Terraform, CDK, or Pulumi, along with ArgoCD or Flux.

• Experience in ITIL-based operations with a hands-on technical contribution.

• Fluency in German, both spoken and written.

• Proficient in English at a C2 level.

• Mandatory productive use of AI tools like Claude Code, Copilot, and Cursor.

• Willingness to rapidly acclimate to new environments.

• Advantageous qualifications include SAFe and PI Planning, BPMN 2.0 with Camunda Platform 7 or 8, AWS certifications, and Kubernetes CKA/CKS.
