This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +8 more states.
• Take charge of the DDPS/PRS technical architecture, oversee cloud infrastructure design, and manage the DevSecOps pipeline.
• Ensure that solutions comply with CMS Technical Reference Architecture (TRA), Acceptable Risk Safeguards (ARS), FISMA, and NIST standards.
• Design and maintain the complete CMS AWS environment across both Production and Non-Production VPCs.
• Create, optimize, and uphold the DDPS data platform utilizing Snowflake, Redshift Serverless, Athena, MWAA/Apache Airflow, and Databricks.
• Drive strategies for cloud optimization and cost management, including service substitutions and consolidations.
• Design API and multi-cloud data-sharing integrations for CMS and its downstream stakeholders.
• Ensure compatibility with IDR and maintain AWS networking and security services.
• Work alongside the DevSecOps Lead to ensure ATO compliance.
• Assist with CMS AI/ML initiatives, encompassing data preparation, model implementation, and validation.
• Engage in CMS-led proofs of concept and architectural evaluations.
• Guarantee high-availability, multi-AZ architecture for systems processing 9–10 million PDE transactions each day.
• Integrate AWS messaging services such as EventBridge, SQS, SNS, and SES.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in solution or enterprise architecture.
• At least 5 years of experience architecting on AWS.
• AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification or proven equivalent AWS expertise.
• Hands-on proficiency with Snowflake, AWS Redshift Serverless, Databricks, Amazon Athena, AWS MWAA/Apache Airflow, Amazon S3, AWS Lambda, and VPC/PrivateLink networking.
• Extensive knowledge of EC2, EBS, Lambda, Systems Manager, VPC, IAM, and Secrets Manager.
• Familiarity with EventBridge, SQS, SNS, and SES.
• Experience ensuring compliance with CMS TRA, ARS, FISMA, and NIST standards within a federal cloud environment.
• Proven experience in multi-AZ, high-availability AWS architectures that support high-volume batch processing systems.
• Demonstrated experience in designing API integrations and multi-cloud data-sharing solutions for federal programs.
• Knowledge of GuardDuty, SecurityHub, Inspector, CloudTrail, Config, and CloudFormation.
• Ability to successfully pass CMS and internal required background checks for public trust.
• Must reside in one of the designated U.S. states: VA, DC, MD, TN, FL, AZ, CO, OR, or TX.
