Solution Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Designs, implements, and oversees customer deployment projects for AppGate ZTNA solutions.

• Assists in driving value and validating the solution to ensure maximum benefit for the customer.

• Engages in both strategic and tactical account planning discussions.

• Contributes ideas to inspire new features for the AppGate ZTNA product.

• Provides technical support during presentations, customer success and deployment meetings, trade shows, and other events, including leading detailed technical requirements sessions.

• Communicates AppGate's value proposition in comparison to competitors throughout the deployment evaluation process.

• Conducts evaluations and demonstrations based on documented technical and business requirements to aid customers in making design decisions for proposed solutions.

• Develops technical solutions to address specified customer use cases.

• Offers technical, design, presentation, and implementation support for new services and upgrades.

• Acts as a technical resource to collaborate with the post-sale delivery team to support new customer implementations.

• Responsible for serving as a technical escalation resource for the post-sale delivery team.

• Prepares and delivers customer-facing technical presentations regarding AppGate security offerings and tailored customer solutions.

• Participates in Q&A sessions to assist prospective customers in validating the value of AppGate ZTNA against competing and legacy products.

• Collaborates with prospective customers' security teams during Red/Purple/Blue team events to validate AppGate ZTNA's security capabilities.

• Fosters strong relationships with customers, engineering, and product teams as a trusted advisor to facilitate solution enhancements.

• Works with customers, prospects, and internal engineering teams at AppGate, Inc. to advocate for new features within the AppGate ZTNA product line.

• Conducts in-depth technical training on AppGate products and solutions for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Leads the testing and evaluation of new features, providing feedback to developers and identifying deficiencies to ensure readiness for production use.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-15 years of experience as a Pre-Sales Solution Architect in the Cybersecurity or Networking fields.

• 5-15 years of experience delivering software or network solutions within Cybersecurity or Networking.

• Effective communication skills with security, network, and IT operations stakeholders.

• Familiarity with Zero Trust Network principles and Software Defined Perimeter (preferred).

• Understanding of Single Packet Authorization (preferred).

• Knowledge of Identity Platforms, Endpoint Security tools, Compliance and UEBA, SIEM, SOAR, and ITSM.

• Demonstrated Architect-level knowledge and experience in designing, articulating, and implementing connectivity solutions to public cloud services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and IBM Cloud.

• Proven Architect-level knowledge and experience in designing, articulating, and implementing complex network integrations and cybersecurity solutions.

• Familiarity with common virtualization technologies, including VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix Xen, and Red Hat OpenStack.

• Knowledge of integrating access solutions with IDP (e.g., MS AD, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, LDAP, SAML, Radius) and MFA technologies (e.g., TOTP, FIDO, Radius).

• Experience with systems integration and workflow automation using REST API, JavaScript, and JSON in an API-first, Security-as-Code/Everything-as-Code architecture.

• Ability to build and troubleshoot REST API integrations with external systems, including Microsoft Graph API, Service Desk REST APIs (e.g., ServiceNow), Identity, ITSM, logging, NGFW, and security platforms.

• Direct experience with scripting, particularly with RESTful APIs and JavaScript (preferred). Strong understanding of RESTful API design and consumption, along with JSON data models and schema validation.

• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible.

• Implement Configuration as Code (CaC) and GitOps workflows.

• Integrate Zero Trust deployments into CI/CD pipelines that align with DevSecOps standards.

• Ensure all automations are version-controlled, repeatable, auditable, and API-driven.

• Familiarity with process frameworks such as MOF, ITIL, or ITSM.

• Architect-level familiarity with network security solutions like firewalls/next-generation firewalls, network access control, VPNs, Logging/SYSLOG integration, IT Operations, IT Security Operations, SDWAN, WAN, and other Layer 3/4 network technologies.

• Familiarity and experience in architecting and deploying network systems utilizing the OSI model for Networking.

• Current CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent networking certification or experience is required.

• Architect-level understanding of IP routing, VPN systems, encryption using TLS/dTLS/mTLS, SSH, certificate signing and authentication, ARP and Proxy ARP, network segmentation/micro-segmentation, ACLs/firewall rulesets.

• Holder of a current valid certification from a major public cloud provider (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate).

• Familiarity with authentication protocols and services such as Active Directory, LDAP, Radius, Kerberos, SAML, SSL, and authentication mechanisms including machine certificate-based authentication on Windows and PKI trust chains, certificate lifecycle, revocation, and tokens.

• Familiarity with encryption standards like AES, PKI, RSA.

• Experience with compliance engineering supporting frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and PCI-DSS.
