Solar Pre-Construction Manager – Utility-Scale IPP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Oversee the pre-construction planning for utility-scale solar projects (and storage, if relevant) from the late-stage development phase until Notice to Proceed (NTP).

• Serve as the technical and construction representative for the owner during the pre-construction phase.

• Collaborate with EPC partners to confirm construction methods, logistics, and project sequencing.

• Ensure that development assumptions are in line with feasible construction plans.

• Conduct site visits and perform constructability assessments of projects, identifying risks and opportunities for successful execution.

• Communicate risks and opportunities related to new projects to company leadership.

• Review, validate, and critically assess EPC cost estimates and project timelines.

• Assist in the development of Class 3 / investment-grade budgets and cost benchmarks.

• Recognize cost drivers, contingencies, and opportunities for value engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in delivering utility-scale solar projects or direct pre-construction experience.

• Strong expertise in pre-construction, construction management, and oversight of EPC activities.

• Proficient in reviewing EPC project schedules, cost estimates, and execution strategies.

• Familiarity with owner-side project development and financing processes.
