This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Ensure that all work is conducted following established safety policies and procedures.

• Assess and confirm that appropriate PPE is available and utilized correctly.

• Develop PLOTO and LOTO switch plans for approval.

• Facilitate pre-job briefings, job safety analyses, personal LOTO, and switch-plan LOTO sessions.

• Conduct thorough inspections of solar power plants.

• Design and implement preventative maintenance programs.

• Oversee and mentor junior technicians on inspection and maintenance protocols.

• Identify and resolve complex system issues, including grid integration and communication challenges.

• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and software to tackle system performance problems.

• Formulate and execute corrective action plans.

• Create and maintain records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.

• Prepare technical reports and presentations for management review.

• Supervise work-order documentation and provide guidance to junior technicians.

• Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.

• Offer technical advice and mentorship to junior technicians.

• Contribute to the development of training materials and procedures.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in the solar sector or a related electrical domain.

• An associate's degree in electrical engineering or a related field is preferred.

• OSHA 30-hour certification required.

• NFPA 70e certification required.

• FAA Part 107 certification or demonstrated proficiency in operating drones for aerial thermographic applications.

• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, solar energy technologies, and grid-tied systems.

• Skilled in using I/V Curve Tracers, Meggers, and isolation testers.

• Ability to read and interpret intricate electrical schematics and engineering drawings.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• Proven capability to lead and mentor junior technicians in the field.

• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Capability to drive confidently and safely.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and walk up to three miles daily.

• Proficiency in navigating ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps while maintaining three points of contact.

• Visual acuity for depth perception, no field-of-vision issues, and ability to differentiate colors.

• Willingness to work in extreme heat above 100°F or extreme cold below 32°F for durations exceeding one hour.

• Capacity to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 30 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly.

• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is not available.
