Solar Operations & Maintenance Technician, Level 1

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Comply with all safety guidelines, company policies, and established procedures.

• Quickly identify and report any potential hazards in the field.

• Properly utilize the necessary personal protective equipment.

• Engage in safety training sessions, Pre-Job Briefs, and Job Safety Analysis.

• Carry out regular inspections of solar energy systems.

• Perform preventative maintenance tasks, including inspecting solar modules, verifying wiring integrity, and securing connections.

• Report equipment deficiencies, irregularities, or structural concerns to senior technicians.

• Support senior technicians with basic troubleshooting of solar energy systems.

• Employ basic diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and isolate fundamental system problems.

• Execute minor repairs under the guidance of a supervisor.

• Accurately and promptly complete necessary work order documentation.

• Maintain detailed records of daily inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs.

• Participate in training programs provided by the company.

• Assist team members and carry out other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

• 0–1 year of experience in the solar industry or a related area.

• Previous experience in construction, general labor, or basic electrical work is strongly preferred.

• Strong mechanical aptitude along with basic troubleshooting skills.

• Comfortable operating within low-voltage and non-hazardous environments under supervision.

• Proficient and at ease using hand tools, impact drills, electric power tools, and hammer drills.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Excellent time management capabilities.

• A strong desire to collaborate effectively within a team.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Ability to drive a vehicle safely and confidently.

• Capability to stand for extended periods and walk distances of up to three miles daily.

• Able to navigate ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps while maintaining three points of contact.

• Visual acuity for depth perception, no issues with field of vision, and the ability to differentiate colors.

• Comfortable working in extreme heat over 100°F or extreme cold below 32°F for periods exceeding one hour.

• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 30 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly.

• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is not available.
