Solar Operations & Maintenance Technician – Level 1

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Comply with safety regulations, company policies, and established procedures.

• Recognize and promptly report any potential hazards in the field.

• Properly utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and engage in safety training, Pre-Job Briefs, and Job Safety Analysis.

• Perform regular inspections of solar energy systems.

• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks, including inspecting solar modules, verifying wiring integrity, and securing connections.

• Identify and communicate equipment deficiencies, anomalies, and structural problems to senior team members.

• Support senior technicians with fundamental troubleshooting of solar energy systems.

• Employ diagnostic tools to detect and isolate basic system issues.

• Execute minor repairs under direct supervision.

• Accurately and promptly complete work order documentation.

• Maintain logs of daily inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs.

• Participate in company training initiatives to enhance technical skills and knowledge of solar technology.

• Assist colleagues and undertake other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

• 0–1 years of experience in the solar sector or a related field.

• Previous experience in construction, general labor, or basic electrical work is highly preferred.

• Strong mechanical aptitude along with basic troubleshooting abilities.

• Comfortable working in low-voltage and non-hazardous environments under supervision.

• Proficient in using hand tools, impact drills, electric power tools, and hammer drills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong time management capabilities.

• Willingness to collaborate as part of a team.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Ability to drive safely and confidently.

• Capacity to stand for extended periods and walk up to three miles a day.

• Skilled in navigating ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps while maintaining three points of contact.

• Visual clarity for depth perception, no field-of-vision issues, and ability to differentiate colors.

• Comfort in working in extreme temperatures, above 100°F or below 32°F, for periods exceeding one hour.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, 30 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds consistently.

• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is not available.
