Software Technical Lead

Posted 1 day ago

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Take ownership of various product or platform domains from start to finish, managing teams of approximately 3–5 engineers located both onshore and offshore.

β€’ Oversee service design and implementation, including the creation of design documentation through to dual-write deployment, traffic-splitting, per-tenant feature flags, and seamless cutover.

β€’ Define boundaries for monolith seams and domain-owned services, establish extraction priorities, and develop data migration strategies.

β€’ Deliver complete full-stack vertical slices utilizing independently deployable React/Next.js micro-frontends, API/BFF contracts, shared design systems, domain-driven event-based microservices, and independent pipelines.

β€’ Manage performance and monitoring metrics, such as Core Web Vitals, API latency budgets, OpenTelemetry tracing, CloudWatch dashboards, and load baselines prior to cutovers.

β€’ Co-develop AI agents by overseeing domain-specific tool contracts, schemas, SLAs, idempotency, evaluation fixtures, and safety measures.

β€’ Take responsibility for team velocity, productivity, and engineering quality through agentic harness loop-engineering methodologies.

β€’ Create reusable patterns, establish cross-team agreements, manage code and design review cycles, and set on-call practices and incident ownership.

β€’ Mentor engineers and function as a technical leader without holding a managerial position.

⛳️ Requirements

β€’ A minimum of 7 years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 2 years as a technical lead or staff engineer.

β€’ Strong expertise in at least three of the following: Python, Java/Spring Boot, PHP/Laravel, and TypeScript/React.

β€’ Capable of deploying production code in a primary stack and reviewing pull requests in the other listed stacks.

β€’ Hands-on experience with AWS services including Lambda, EventBridge, DynamoDB, ECS or Fargate, RDS/Aurora, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, and CloudWatch.

β€’ Proven experience in breaking down monolithic applications into microservices using domain-driven design, strangler fig patterns, anti-corruption layers, shared-database separation, dual-write validation, traffic-splitting, and canary or per-tenant deployment strategies.

β€’ Experience in delivering frontend applications with React or similar technologies and backend services in the same product domain, with a focus on performance and monitoring.

β€’ Experience in large-scale integration of third-party APIs using REST, SOAP, webhooks, idempotency, retry/backoff mechanisms, and vendor-specific solutions.

β€’ Familiarity with relational MySQL/Aurora and NoSQL DynamoDB data structures.

β€’ Excellent written communication skills with the ability to create implementation-ready design documents.

β€’ An instinct for creating reusable abstractions without excessive complexity.

β€’ Preferred: experience with production AI workflows, Strands Agents, LangGraph, AWS Bedrock AgentCore, MCP servers, prompt engineering, evaluation harnesses, guardrails, cost, and latency management.

β€’ Preferred: understanding of micro-frontend architecture, module federation or similar, independently deployable frontend components, and shared design systems.

β€’ Preferred: knowledge of event-driven architecture, event schema versioning, and consumer-driven contracts.

β€’ Preferred: familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS, tenant isolation, per-tenant configuration, and feature flags.

β€’ Preferred: experience collaborating with both onshore and offshore engineering teams.

β€’ Nice to have: experience in automotive, fintech, or marketplace platforms; familiarity with OpenTelemetry; CircleCI; AWS CDK; Auth0; Playwright; Glue; Athena; and S3 data lake structures.

🏝️ Benefits

β€’ Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.

β€’ Employer-sponsored short-term and long-term disability insurance, as well as life insurance.

β€’ 401k plan with matching contributions.

β€’ Unlimited paid time off, including 10 paid holidays.

β€’ Free mental health support through BetterHelp.

β€’ Options for pet insurance.

β€’ Identity theft protection services.

β€’ Flexible working arrangements: Denver hybrid model (2 days/week in the office) or fully remote within the US.

β€’ Genuine ownership of a product area: you define the patterns, roadmap, cutovers, and AI agents deployed to production.
