Software Quality Analyst II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Assist in the design, development, and testing of software products, emphasizing quality engineering and automated testing throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Create, develop, execute, and sustain both manual and automated test cases, test scripts, and test suites for web and web service/API applications.

• Build, maintain, and enhance scalable automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Java, TestNG, Cucumber, and REST Assured or comparable technologies.

• Design and carry out automated testing for REST and SOAP web services and APIs, covering aspects like authentication, authorization, validation, contract testing, error handling, performance, and integration testing.

• Set up and manage automated test environments across development, testing, staging, and production-like settings.

• Integrate UI and API automation into CI/CD pipelines utilizing Bamboo, Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar technologies.

• Conduct cross-browser, cross-device, accessibility, database, and backend validation testing, which includes SQL query development and execution.

• Aid in the testing of applications deployed in AWS environments, focusing on cloud-hosted applications, integrations, logging, monitoring, and distributed architectures.

• Identify, analyze, document, and monitor software defects, performance issues, and integration challenges.

• Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, cloud engineers, product owners, and QA team members.

• Convey test strategies, execution status, quality metrics, risks, and defects to project stakeholders.

• Offer technical guidance and QA best practices to enhance quality engineering capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software testing, encompassing both manual and automated testing.

• At least 2 years of practical experience in automation testing.

• Proficient in Selenium, Java, TestNG, Cucumber, Gherkin, Jira, Deque AXE, and Xray.

• Strong background in cross-browser and mobile platform testing.

• Experience in establishing, optimizing, and maintaining test automation frameworks.

• Understanding of Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD).

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Bamboo and Bitbucket.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to work independently and proactively identify automation opportunities.

• Experience with Section 508 compliance testing and accessibility tools.

• Background in developing automated test suites for REST/SOAP/GraphQL web services using REST Assured, Postman/Newman, ReadyAPI, or equivalent frameworks.

• Working knowledge of AWS cloud services and testing applications in cloud environments.

• Experience in testing microservices-based and cloud-native applications.

• Must possess authorization to work in the United States.

• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized test environments is preferred.

• Preferred qualifications include experience running continuous integration build lifecycles focused on automation; Section 508 compliance certification; knowledge of clinical trials; testing experience with hospital management systems/electronic medical records; and experience in a CMMI environment.
