This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Assist in the development of forest carbon projects through technical and data-oriented workstreams under guidance.
• Collect, organize, and manage geospatial and quantitative datasets, including project boundaries and remote sensing information.
• Execute Comparable Properties Analysis and associated spatial analyses with supervision.
• Maintain structured geospatial data systems and file organization.
• Create maps, figures, and geospatial outputs for project documentation, including GHG Plans, PDDs, and listing forms.
• Fill in quantitative and standardized sections of project documents and ensure uniformity across materials.
• Prepare documentation for validation and verification processes, including data rooms and issue tracking logs.
• Assist in compiling harvest records and developing field verification materials, such as tree lists.
• Review forestry-related documents, such as management plans, deeds, BMPs, and easements, summarizing key insights.
• Provide carbon-focused data and documentation support to acquisition teams and internal stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure data alignment and accuracy.
• Utilize Excel, GIS, and Python/R tools to enhance workflows and data integrity.
• Coordinate with operations and investment management teams, including foresters, Resource Support, Planning & Analysis, Acquisitions & Dispositions, and Client Account Management.
• Support carbon credit sales and marketing initiatives with data and documentation assistance.
• Contribute to the development of policies and strategies related to forest carbon and nature-based solutions.
• Investigate emerging forest carbon opportunities and share technical insights with internal teams and peers.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as required to support project and strategy implementation.
• Report directly to the Managing Director of II & NCS.
• Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, Environmental Science, or a related area.
• 1–2+ years of experience in forest carbon, forestry, or a similar quantitative field.
• Strong geospatial and analytical capabilities.
• Proficient in GIS tools, including ArcGIS and QGIS.
• Ability to utilize AI tools and digital solutions to automate processes, enhance data analysis, and boost project efficiency.
• Proficient in Excel.
• Familiarity with Python or R.
• Experience in technical writing and standardized documentation.
• Basic knowledge of voluntary and compliance forest carbon markets, including IFM methodologies.
• Excellent organizational and data management abilities.
