This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.
• Oversee the scope, schedules, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies, and communication with customers for software projects.
• Collaborate with sales, management, software leadership, customers, and internal stakeholders to define and confirm the software scope of work.
• Lead or coordinate the creation of project documentation, such as the Functional Description of Operations (FDO), Functional Specification Document (FSD), configuration documentation, integration specifications, implementation plans, and other related deliverables.
• Manage deviations in scope and customer-requested changes, including documentation, communication, impact assessment, and approval coordination.
• Create and maintain software project plans, milestones, priorities, deliverables, and schedules.
• Utilize Azure DevOps or equivalent project tracking tools to oversee project work items, tasks, priorities, risks, and overall delivery progress.
• Define, create, and maintain Epics, Features, and User Stories in Azure DevOps.
• Facilitate sprint planning, backlog reviews, work prioritization, and project status tracking as necessary.
• Collaborate with development, testing, support, implementation, infrastructure, and management teams to ensure that project work is effectively planned, staffed, tracked, and delivered.
• Act as the main customer-facing contact for software project execution.
• Lead regular customer project meetings, status calls, design reviews, scope reviews, testing coordination meetings, and discussions for go-live planning.
• Organize planning for host system integrations, automation subsystem interfaces, PLC or equipment interfaces, REST APIs, socket interfaces, database interfaces, file exchanges, reporting, and other project-specific integrations.
• Assist in the planning and coordination of internal testing, integration testing, customer testing, user acceptance testing, deployment, go-live validation, and post-go-live stabilization.
• Develop and maintain implementation plans for the site, covering staffing plans, testing plans, go-live support plans, escalation paths, and timing.
• Coordinate travel schedules for the software team with internal execution teams and customers as needed.
• Monitor project budget performance, labor usage, remaining work, estimate-to-complete, change requests, and scope impacts.
• Provide consistent project updates to software management and company leadership.
• Oversee project closeout activities, support transitions, complete documentation, review open issues, and capture lessons learned.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience may be taken into account.
• More than 5 years of experience managing software implementation projects, enterprise software deployments, warehouse automation systems, or other technical customer-facing projects.
• Proven experience leading projects through the entire lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, development coordination, testing, deployment, go-live support, and transition to ongoing support.
• Demonstrated ability to manage project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies, and customer communications.
• Experience in coordinating cross-functional teams, including software developers, QA/testers, support teams, customer stakeholders, IT resources, vendors, and implementation staff.
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), warehouse execution systems (WES), warehouse control systems (WCS), warehouse automation equipment, distribution center operations, or order fulfillment settings.
• Familiarity with configurable enterprise software platforms and system integration projects.
• Working knowledge of SQL Server, relational databases, APIs, reporting tools, Windows Server environments, automation interfaces, PLCs, or other industrial software technologies.
• Experience using project tracking and work management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar platforms.
• Experience assisting customer site implementations, commissioning activities, go-live planning, post-launch stabilization, and support handoff processes.
• PMP, CAPM, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Agile, or similar project management certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
