Software Engineering Manager, Launch & Scale Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take full responsibility for the strategy, delivery, and operational dependability of the Launch & Scale Platform.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to establish and prioritize the product and technical roadmap.

• Achieve outcomes at the owner level.

• Convert intricate operational processes into sustainable systems.

• Design and manage production services for critical business launch systems.

• Develop integrations across multiple systems.

• Be proactive: write code, lead architecture evaluations, and resolve production incidents.

• Recruit, mentor, and grow the engineering team for this platform.

• Work collaboratively with other departments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Engineering Manager with a proven track record in overseeing complex backend or full-stack operational platforms.

• Over 6 years of experience in building software products, including at least 2 years in a leadership role managing engineers (or equivalent experience).

• Expertise in systems design for distributed services.

• Knowledge in workflow orchestration.

• Experience with event-driven architectures.

• Proficiency in creating robust APIs.

• Familiarity with integrations involving ERP, GIS, and document systems.

• Ability to develop scalable backend services.

• Experience in modeling long-running workflows, managing external dependencies (vendors, governments), physical assets, and complex state transitions with clear audit trails.

• Proven history of defining and delivering measurable metrics.
