This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of engineers (including up to Staff level) to deliver exceptional software solutions.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture centered on accountability, innovation, and excellence.
• Conduct regular performance assessments, offer constructive feedback, and promote career development opportunities for team members.
• Establish the team’s vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to clarify business requirements and translate them into actionable engineering projects, ensuring the successful execution of key upcoming initiatives.
• Partner with Principal Engineers to create scalable and reliable software solutions.
• Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks, addressing deficiencies in software architecture and long-term challenges.
• Set and uphold best practices for development, testing, and operational workflows.
• Collaborate with product managers, stakeholders, and other engineering leaders to ensure cross-team and cross-domain alignment.
• Influence intersecting business and technology areas to minimize inefficiencies and enhance delivery speed.
• Serve as the primary representative of your teams to senior leadership, customers, and stakeholders.
• Over 7 years of experience in software development, including a minimum of 3 years in team management.
• In-depth knowledge of software architecture, APIs, and scalable systems, with a proven ability to balance short-term and long-term technical requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in building, leading, and retaining high-performing teams within a fast-paced environment.
• Capability to define a team’s mission and roadmap, ensuring alignment with company-wide OKRs.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce strategic documentation (such as narratives and proposals).
• A proven record of achieving results in ambiguous, high-pressure scenarios.
• Experience in managing teams focused on backend systems.
