This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Establish a high standard for technical expertise, customer insight, and AI-centric engineering judgment.
• Hold regular one-on-one meetings, offer technical guidance, and focus on the professional development of each team member. Foster an environment where exceptional engineers can accomplish the best work of their careers.
• Manage and supervise engagements with various lines of business within your team's portfolio, making resource allocation decisions that balance stakeholder demands, platform integrity, team growth, and business objectives.
• Take ownership of delivery across the Prizm, Semantics, Transformation, and Delivery Services roadmaps, ensuring the core platform remains reliable, scalable, and progressive.
• Collaborate with line-of-business leaders to assess engagements, define project scopes, and set expectations prior to your team's commitment. Maintain the relationship throughout the entire engagement lifecycle, not just during the initial kickoff.
• Evaluate technical architectures and code produced by your teams, ensuring they deliver high-quality, production-ready solutions that fulfill enterprise standards for reliability, observability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
• Maintain a hands-on approach to lead technical discovery sessions, prototype solutions, and troubleshoot complex production issues alongside your team as necessary.
• Develop repeatable playbooks, starter repositories, integration templates, and an internal knowledge base that captures the insights your team gains in the field. Channel field-tested patterns back into the platform teams to ensure successes build upon one another rather than remain isolated incidents.
• Establish and maintain a high standard for AI-enhanced engineering practices. Mentor the team on the effective and responsible use of agentic coding tools, and influence how AI integrates into the design, deployment, and operation of software within this group.
• Define team OKRs that align with line-of-business outcomes and platform adoption targets. Create operational rhythms (standups, retrospectives, engagement reviews, design reviews, incident reviews) that keep teams synchronized, accountable, and in a state of continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Product and Architecture to convert field insights into platform enhancements. Act as the internal customer's voice during planning processes.
• Represent the platform to senior stakeholders across various lines of business at the highest levels.
• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering, solutions architecture, or a client-facing technical role such as forward-deployed engineering or consulting.
• More than 4 years of people management experience with a proven history of hiring, developing, and retaining outstanding engineers, preferably in a services, post-sales, or forward-deployed organization.
• Experience building teams or practices from the ground up, along with the discernment to do so within an organization that already has operational systems in place.
• Direct experience collaborating with enterprise stakeholders on technical implementations, including the ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics in a large corporation.
• Practical experience building on large language models and generative AI, including agents, retrieval, evaluation frameworks, prompt management, guardrails, and the operational challenges of running AI in production (such as rate limits, non-determinism, provider outages, schema drift, cost, and latency).
• A real perspective on AI-first engineering. You utilize agentic coding tools on a daily basis, have insights on which tools are most effective for various tasks, and have shaped team practices around the responsible adoption of AI.
• Sufficient expertise in distributed backend systems and cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP) to credibly assess the solutions your teams deliver, including services, asynchronous processing, event-driven pipelines, and large-scale content and data systems.
• Strong operational instincts related to observability, on-call duties, incident response, security, and the level of platform discipline required to maintain trustworthy services at a multi-tenant scale.
• Executive presence and the capability to navigate between strategic discussions with senior stakeholders and hands-on debugging sessions with engineers without losing either audience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, allowing you to translate technical complexities into clear narratives for varied audiences.
• True enthusiasm for building something innovative and defining what excellence looks like for a practice that is yet to materialize.
• Eligible to participate in an annual incentive program.
