This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Attack Engineers focused on vulnerability research, reverse engineering, and exploit development.
• Manage a diverse group across various seniority levels, ranging from junior engineers to Principal Attack Engineers.
• Establish technical direction, set priorities, and maintain quality standards for vulnerability research and attack module creation.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning, enhancing offensive rigor, delivery quality, and secure software development practices.
• Drive recruitment and organizational growth as the Vulnerability Research team expands.
• Own the delivery strategy for vulnerability research, patch-diffing, and rapid N-Day weaponization.
• Guide the creation of comprehensive end-to-end exploit methodologies.
• Supervise the reverse engineering of application binaries and patches, including Java, C#, .NET, and native binaries.
• Ensure the swift and secure development of proof-of-concept (PoC) exploits for integration into the core product.
• Oversee the acquisition and setup of testing systems for exploit development and attack scenario validation.
• Maintain NodeZero's cutting-edge capabilities by having a thorough global perspective on emerging vulnerabilities and the current threat landscape.
• Create tight feedback loops to ensure that reverse-engineered exploits are quickly weaponized and incorporated into NodeZero.
• Manage operational rhythms and ensure the team is equipped to respond rapidly to high-priority emerging vulnerabilities.
• 2-3+ years of direct experience in people management.
• 3+ years of experience in software development.
• 5+ years of experience leading offensive security, vulnerability research, or red teams.
• Experience in hiring and interviewing engineers.
• Proven capability to balance hands-on technical expertise with strategic leadership.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Deep knowledge in vulnerability research, reverse engineering, and exploit development.
• Extensive knowledge of common exploitation techniques such as SQL injection, path traversal, and buffer overflows.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, virtualization technologies, and their significance in exploitation vectors.
• Experience with reverse engineering tools like IDA or Ghidra.
• Solid background in production software engineering, preferably in Python.
• Familiarity with secure software development practices, Git version control, and efficient team workflows.
• Ability to assess technical designs and ensure the development of high-quality, production-safe software.
• Experience with database systems such as Postgres or Neo4j.
• Experience with vulnerability disclosure processes (e.g., published CVEs) or bug bounty initiatives.
• Familiarity with additional programming languages, including C, C++, Rust, or Assembly.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, etc.) and on large-scale software projects.
