This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Lead and guide an Agile team that focuses on data-driven experimentation, innovation, quality, and craftsmanship.
• Communicate and advocate for the company's culture and mission.
• Collaborate with leadership to define a divisional mission that aligns with the company's vision.
• Encourage iterative and thoughtful decision-making within a self-organizing team.
• Identify trends impacting delivery objectives and assist the team in making short- and long-term decisions, removing obstacles when needed.
• Enhance performance in areas such as quality, predictability, flow, and velocity.
• Coordinate the response and communication regarding technical incidents to stakeholders.
• Identify trends in technical incidents and ensure that true root causes are recognized and addressed with appropriate solutions.
• Stay updated on trends and changes within the broader technology, business, and regulatory environments.
• Regularly assess the team's size, organizational fit, and positioning, proposing changes to enhance synergies.
• Comprehensively understand and plan for the product roadmap while remaining aware of broader technical and business changes that may impact the team.
• Collaborate with the team to establish short-, mid-, and long-term key results to meet team objectives.
• Foster talent development and retention in line with the product team's vision and roadmap.
• Lead interviews and discussions related to hiring decisions for candidates and promotions, engaging relevant subject matter experts as necessary.
• Prepare and conduct performance reviews, compensation adjustments, and promotions.
• Identify, implement, and promote the adoption of best practices within the leadership community.
• Mentor and support team members concerning any of the aforementioned responsibilities.
• 4+ years of experience in software engineering, product development, or a related field.
• 2 years of experience in leading and managing software engineering teams.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Familiarity with organizational technology standards, including testing and deployment practices.
• Understanding of software delivery roles and the responsibilities associated with each, including software engineers, architects, leadership, and product roles.
• Experience in mentoring and developing team members.
• Proficiency in utilizing Agile metrics, such as throughput, work-in-progress (WIP), cycle time, and defect rates, to enhance team performance.
• Proven capability to advocate for team members and projects using clear, accurate, and persuasive communication.
